ABOUT

HANNAH KORNFELD

Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, it was there that Hannah got her first glimpse of the joys of performing while participating in a Marin Theater Company summer camp. Ever since her starring role as Snoopy in Snoopy (at 8 years old), Hannah has been honing her skills, working hard, and striving to portray characters authentically and from her heart. After much childhood success in the Bay Area, Hannah moved to San Diego.

While in high school in San Diego, Hannah landed roles throughout the region, such as Little Red in Into the Woods at New Village Arts, a part for which she was nominated for a San Diego Theatre Critics Circle for Outstanding Featured Performance in a Musical, and Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, at the Coronado Playhouse for which she won an Aubrey Award for Best Lead Actress in a Musical.

After graduating high school Hannah continued her training at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM). She graduated with honors Spring 2016 with a BFA in Musical theatre. A highlight of her time at CCM was playing the emotionally intense and challenging role of Mrs. Johnstone in Blood Brothers.

In addition to performing, Hannah is also passionate about fitness, and is a certified teacher in Mat Pilates and Vinyasa Yoga. She’s found that further understanding her body and mind have made her even more grounded and confident as a performer.

Hannah is a proud member of AEA.

The class selects a theme for the showcase, then blends musical numbers, narration and monologues into a cohesive whole. They create the musical arrangements, supply the choreography and staging, direct the scenes and are responsible for every aspect of the production.

Thousands of college students and recent graduates audition for a chance to join the intern company... At night, they perform, and sometimes, as in the case of Hannah Kornfeld..., playing Kathy Selden in Singin’ in the Rain, they outshine the pros on the stage.

Hannah Kornfeld is exuberant as “Mrs. Johnston”, a prolific mother, who very reluctantly gives up one of her twins... Kornfeld is completely believable, ... I was totally enamored with her take on the character.

There’s something real and authentic about Hannah Kornfeld’s (“Miss Watson,” “Sally Phelps”) performance, no matter what character she plays. I’m a fan.
